Birthday on Quarantine

Today... well yesterday was my niece Hannah's... 12th birthday? Anyhow, the whole Laneri family and myself are all down with the swine flu... I for one have to say that tonnights birthday was an awsome one... The day started out kind of slow, I had to turn in my rental truck from the move, and get new tires on my ride, and get my saftey inspection up to date on the old Maxima... While I was waiting for that to happen I wondered in to hobby lobby to puruse for a decent gift for Hannah. I stumbled across a toy I knew I thought was pretty cool when I was 'about that age'. The simple yet entertaining gyroscope. The amazing top that defies gravity as it balances upon a string or twirls around your finger in a most precarious way. Not cool? Ok, mabey I'm easily amused. I think the toy made it about 2 hours before I snapped the rip cord on it... :( doh! But for 7.95 I think it was a pretty cool hit, all it needs is a new string. So we all had some Laneri gormet' style bacon cheesburgurs while Audra came around to check all our temperatures... All of us celebrating a Birthday with the swine flu... Definetly going into the memory banks. John and I, well John mostly played some new games with Hannah, and I got to goof around with Alex inventing a new game in the drive in front of the house... kind of a cross between tennis and vollyball, that was a hit for awhile until the neighbor kindly told us to take it inside. Once the little ones (hannah and sophia) were off to bed, Alex and I watched some thunder heads roll towards dallas and exchanged some fun memories of our seperate adventures with 'Gram-Gram' and 'Bah-Bah' in Alaska. Tonight I realized my most important reason for being home. Family, and love, something that there was just no substitute for being so far away. I so look forward to the next family adventure... I would most definetly like to talk the fam into going to enchanted rock. Get in some rock climbing there.

Beaming about being back home in Texas...
